JUR Referee

I am of the mind that it is imperative to reach beyond the concepts being taught in the classroom and touch the practical. In adhering to this principle and wanting to gain exposure to the peer-review process, I submitted my application for a referee position at The Journal of Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Excellence (JUR).

JUR is among the few entirely student-run journals and is registered by the Library of Congress and overseen by the Office for Undergraduate Research and Artistry at Colorado State University. Their goal is to print outstanding undergraduate work in an easily accessible and professional peer-reviewed journal while combining undergraduate and faculty involvement to create a cooperative approach to the peer review process. JUR proudly accepts submissions from all disciplines of undergraduate study from any accredited institution of higher education.

At the beginning of this week, I received a warm invitation from the Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor of JUR. I am excited to be counted among the peer-reviewers of this undergraduate journal. I look forward to serving as referee and becoming familiar with the process of peer-review in action.
