Socratic Seminar

The following is a blast from the past!

As an eighth grader at Center Junior High School of Science I participated in a 4 month Socratic Seminar.  The program was created by the Alaska Paideia Project and Alaska's Youth: Ready For Work Program.  You can read more about the project in this article I was mentioned in by Mike Strong:

Additionally, I was invited by Mike Strong to speak in front of the Minority Education Concerns Committee of the Anchorage School District and the Anchorage School Board.  On May 9th, 1994 during the presentation, I advocated for the efficacy for the Socratic Seminar usage in the Anchorage School District.  The board members at the time included President Sharon Richards, Vice President Debbie Ossiander, Clerk Peggie Robinson-Wilson, Treasurer Lorraine Ferrell, Patti Higgins, Joe Marks, and Harriett Drummond.  Here is the information package cover sheet handed out to all of those in attendance:
