Serve as a tribal licensed foster home that supports the health, safety, and well-being of the children in my care, while providing structure and daily activities designed to promote their physical, social, intellectual, spiritual, and emotional development. 

Emergency Foster Parent

Licensed by the State of Alaska serving as the only emergency foster placement in Barrow. Accepting youth 0 to 18 years old who need short term in region placement.


Residential Manager, Children & Youth Services

Managed a level 2 state-licensed residential facility, providing emergency shelter for any youth under the age of 18, in the northernmost city in the United States. Oversaw daily operations, designed programmatic improvements, implemented streamlining measures, and developed group life skills curriculum. Clinical supervision of 15 behavioral health professionals as part of a milieu treatment team.

Directed therapeutic group home for Alaska indigenous female youth who experience severe emotional disturbances, behavioral and chemical dependency issues. Oversaw daily operations, designed programmatic improvements, implemented streamlining measures, and developed group life skills curriculum. Clinical supervision of 6 to 14 direct service professionals as part of a milieu team. Conducted group and individual therapy and supervised integrated care team delivery of behavioral, chemical dependency and health services. Served 70 male and 18 female youth during tenure.

Clinical Associate II
July 2014-July 2015 (1 year)

Provided behavioral and health services as part of an integrated care team for indigenous peoples of Alaska in the largest tribal behavioral health clinic in the state. Assisted Alaska indigenous male youth through substance abuse, mental illness and behavioral disorders in a culturally appropriate setting with the goal of reintegration into their communities.

Direct Service Provider (DSP)
February 2011–June 2016 (5 years 4 months)

Worked one-on-one with nearly 40 individuals with disabilities both in their homes and out in the community. Supported a client full time who lives with Asperger’s Syndrome in his pursuit of a college education. Academic tutoring was provided in addition to verbal prompting for activities of daily living. Participated as an integral member of client’s care team to compose, revise, and implement a Plan of Care. Aided an 8 and 9 year old on the autistic spectrum and a high school aged client part time who experiences autism and cerebral palsy. Provided 2-hour behavioral intervention session to school-aged clients during parent-physician consultations at Providence Pediatric Neurodevelopment Clinic.

Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

Served as an on call staff for emergency 24-hour assistance of critical clients. Aided a client full time in managing her multiple sclerosis through medicine and meal management, manual transferring, showering/toileting, and planned outings. Assisted a client part time in coping with mid-stage dementia. Served a client living with paraplegia by providing full transferring, bathing, toileting, ostomy, and feeding assistance. Additionally, documented vitals, medications and daily narrative case notes. Furthermore, supported a client in managing visual impairment, type II diabetes and morbid obesity. Reduced client's weight from 320lbs to 170lbs through nutrition planning, physical therapy and life coaching. Overall worked with 7 clients not including emergency response. 

Human Resources Manager

Ensured EEO while hiring, placing, and terminating field staff, totaling over 90. Revised administrative documentation in accordance with State of Alaska: Health and Social Services, Department of Labor, Division of Child Support Services, HIPPA, OSHA, etc. newly implemented regulations. Resolved job function, conflict and scheduling issues. Introduced an electronic filing system as well as revised the preexisting hardcopy filing system.

Respite and Chore Provider

Served full time between multiple clients with a range of diagnoses (e.g., trauma-induced blindness, paraplegia, quadriplegia, and diabetes) and assisted in maintaining a closest to normal quality of life. Completed routine heavy to light housekeeping and snow removal. Coordinated, planned, and scheduled community events for clients. Assisted with grocery shopping and provided transportation to planned community events.

WAN Specialist

Traffic and Quality of Service (QoS) protocols implementation and monitoring for Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) maintained Alaska Federal Health Care Access Network (AFHCAN) Telehealth system. This system provides village itinerant medical staff access to physicians, consultants, diagnosticians, and training.

PC/LAN Engineer
January 2000–August 2004 (4 years 8 months)

Administrated a Banyan and Windows 2000 Active Directory network with over 500 users and 3 different organizations. Assisted in the design, implementation, migration and deployment of Microsoft 2000 Active Directory from Banyan. Supervised 9 staff members in a Help Desk Call Center (5 permanent and 4 temporary). Created and implemented new policies and procedures borough-wide (e.g., the first Disaster Recovery Policy). Created the first Intranet for all borough divisions on the North Slope. Designed and upgraded a Cisco wide area network (WAN) consisting of over 62 physical locations spread across 7 remote villages. Obtained specifications and purchasing information on all computer and networking components.

Network Analyst I

Assisted in the design and configuration of a Voice Over Frame Relay (VoFR) network consisting of 20 branches for 1st National Bank of Alaska. Monitored company’s Internet Platform: (Cisco) Dial-up, (MVL) DSL/DSLAM, (Com21) Cable Modem, (Cisco) DIAS Customer Network, (NBA) Novell IPX Network. Oversaw National Bank of Alaska’s Novell Network, which incorporated NW 3.12, 4.11, and 5 servers.

SchoolZone/SchoolAccess Technical Representative
December 1997–November 1998 (11 months)

Installed and administered approximately 150 Windows NT 4.0 with Netscape SuiteSpot Server Suite: Administration 3.0 and 3.5, Proxy 2.5 and 3.5, Directory 1.03 and 3.1, Messaging 3.01 and 3.54, Collabra 3.01 and 3.52, Messenger Express, and Enterprise connected to microDAMA receiver dishes. Implemented a DNS solution for SchoolZone/SchoolAccess. Created and modified applications to outfit the needs of SchoolZone/SchoolAccess technical support, management and customer-base.
